What is AFNS?
The Pakistan Army wants bright and healthy people to become Army Nurses. They offer a course called AFNS Course for this. It’s not just about getting a nursing degree. They also train you to be an officer in the Army, serving your country in the future.
During the course, which lasts 4 years, the Army pays for everything, including your education. And guess what? You also get a salary while studying for your BS nursing degree.

Who Can Apply For the AFNS?
Before diving into AFNS Test preparation, and AFNS Online Registration, it’s crucial to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for the AFNS Course. Here’s what you need to know:
- Education: You must have completed your F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or A’Level (Bio as a subject) with at least 50% marks.
- Age: You should be between 17 to 25 years old at the time of application.
- Nationality: Only Pakistani citizens are eligible to apply.
- Marital Status: Unmarried females are eligible to apply.
What is AFNS Test?
In the selection process, candidates must follow a specific pattern of tests and interviews. The first crucial step in this selection pattern is the AFNS Test, also known as the AFNS Initial Test or AFNS Written/Intelligence Test. It is mandatory for candidates to pass this test to proceed further in the selection procedure. If a candidate fails this test, they are considered unsuccessful, and a ‘failed’ stamp is marked on their registration/exam slip. Here, we will describe the pattern and syllabus of the AFNS Test.
How To Attempt AFNS Test?
The AFNS Test is conducted on a computer. Upon completing the online registration, candidates need to download the AFNS registration slip from the same website, www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. This slip contains the date and time for the AFNS Test. On the specified date and time, candidates must visit their selected Army Selection and Recruitment Center.
At the Army selection center, the original documents listed on the exam slip will be verified. Following verification, candidates are required to submit a prospect fee of 300 PKR. Once the fee is collected, candidates are directed to a computer lab to take the AFNS Test.
In the computer lab, candidates will find an LCD/monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse. They will be shown a page on the LCD screen where they need to enter their registration number to begin the test. The test consists of three parts, as follow.

AFNS Test Syllabus
- Verbal Intelligence Test (80-90 MCQs ” 30 minutes”)
- Non-Verbal Intelligence Test (80-90 MCQs ” 30 minutes”)
- Academic Test (50 MCQs ” 25 minutes”)
To pass this test, candidates must complete every section. If they fail any part of the test, they will be considered unsuccessful.

What is AFNS Academic Test?
The Academic Test is the third segment of the AFNS Initial written/intelligence Test. It consists of 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and candidates have 25 minutes to complete this portion. The syllabus for the AFNS Academic Test is as follows.

- Chemistry
- Biology
- Short Math
- Pakistan Studies
- Islamic History
Most MCQs are from Science subjects like English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Only 5-8 MCQs from other subjects as mentioned above.

How To Prepare For AFNS Test?
